Background to the Steiner philosophy

Millthorpe Children’s Garden takes its inspiration from the work of Austrian philosopher Rudolf Steiner.

Rudolf  Steiner was an insightful scientist & philosopher in the early 1900’s who brought fresh understanding to human nature.

Steiner schools aim to educate the whole child – head, heart and limbs so that a harmony in all three may be achieved as a foundation for balance in thoughts, emotions and deeds as adults.

Steiner, or Waldorf Schools, are found worldwide, comprising more than 800.

Since the inception of the first school in 1919 there are now numerous schools in  Europe,  Scandinavia, Great Britain, America, Asia, New Zealand and Australia. Many of which offer education from pre-school to Class 12.

There are 2 other long day care centres based on Rudolf Steiner philosophy in Sydney.
